The Magnificent Seven….

Seven free resources for charities using digital technology

Ben Carpenter, Charity Partnerships Manager at Race Online – a guest at our last members meeting - suggests some great free resources for charities using technology.

•    iT4Communities have an army of more than 8,000 IT professionals, looking to volunteer for charities and help with their IT needs - http://www.it4communities.org.uk
•    CTX offer donated technology products from partners such as Microsoft and Cisco. Charities will make savings of between 92-96% on typical retail prices: http://www.ctxchange.org/
•    Lasa help charities use technology to deliver more effective and efficient services, and runs Circuit Riders - mobile and independent workers providing technology development and support work to several small third sector organisations - http://www.lasa.org.uk/
•    Lasa also publishes an easy to use online directory of more than 150 vetted suppliers of goods and services to the third sector - http://www.lasa.org.uk/ict/suppliers-directory/
•    Check out Survive & Thrive – a showcase of charities using technology to do their work better.
•    Use, steal and rebrand www.helppassiton.co.uk, a website for inspiring people to use the internet – it’s free too. Help Pas IT on… http://www.helppassiton.co.uk/work/get-the-code
•    Last, but certainly not least, make the most of free Go ON marketing materials – don’t reinvent the wheel. Piggyback on the profile of a brand that is now being used by Microsoft, DirectGov and Age UK, among others. http://raceonline2012.org/go-on
